Sometime during the Spring of '99,
there was a "Coffee House" at John Jay High School, and only two
bands had signed up to fill the time. The Society was more than
happy to take some of the pressure off of the other bands by playing
a short 20-minute set. Those twenty minutes, however, will forever
be in the minds of those who were there to witness the ridiculous
spectacle. Guitars falling off their straps, muffled vocals, guitars
distorted so bad you couldn't even hear them any more, and a final
burst of feedback and unbelievable noise. Oh, what a night.
